A challenging weekend at Silverstone
[GB]We struggled to find the pace we needed and didn’t come away with the results we were aiming for.
Race 1 was quite tough. Dries dropped slightly to P5. However, a safety car intervention bunched up the field and ushered in a very intense final phase of the race. On the last lap, Dries drove amazingly; great racing and overtaking got him into P3, a podium spot!
However, at the start there was contact with a rival car, for which Dries received a 5-second time penalty, which was quite a heavy punishment in the given circumstances. It dropped Dries back out of the points.
Race 2 was very unlucky for Dries. In a chaotic first lap, Dries had contact with a rival, which caused a puncture. Dries could not take part in the restart. (His rival received a penalty for the incident.)
Race 3 went a lot better. He finished P5 and, after another restart, Dries gained a worthwhile position. He showed good pace but unfortunately didn’t manage to move up any further. Still, a good bag of points to end the weekend.
